Emergency Assistance / Food Pantry

St. Anthony’s provides food assistance weekday afternoons to those in need in our community. The Food Pantry operates two days a week (Monday and Wednesday) and is one of the only food pantries in Northern Virginia to do so.  Our assistance is provided to all—on a nondenominational basis.  The St. Anthony Food Pantry is operated by volunteers (pictured below), and funded through donations.

Each Saturday morning, a team of volunteers also packages meals for day laborers in our community.

When finances permit, some financial support for rent and other emergency expenses is also provided to deserving individuals.

Parishioners are asked to donate food or financial support to this effort and to join in the food distribution activities.  About $20 per week provides groceries for a family.

We also thank our corporate donors from which we receive regular generous donations including:

  • Bloom
  • Chipolte Mexican Grill
  • The Cheesecake Factory
  • E & M Capital Distributors
  • Giant
  • Panera Bread
  • Rio Grande Foods
  • Safeway
  • Starbucks Coffee
  • Trader Joe’s
