Ushers Ministry

Mission Statement

Our mission on the Ushers Ministry is to make people feel welcome, wanted, valued and special. We are the first persons that people meet when they come to church.  We are the doorkeepers in the house of the Lord.  

Purpose

The purpose of this ministry is to provide the logistical services that allow the Masses to run smoothly and attend to the special details that are part of large gatherings. Ushers are always needed, especially in our parish Saint Anthony of Padua.

What are the Activities of the Ministry?

To welcome people into the church and escort them to a pew as required. During the services the ushers are available to handle any kind of emergencies, go down the aisles where they are stationed and take up the collections. Also they shake hands with as many people as they can during the Sign of Peace. They select the family or group for the presentation of the gifts at the offertory and direct the flow of traffic during Communion. When the Mass is over, they hand out the bulletins or assist the community in other handouts when it is necessary.

The only thing you need to bring to this job is a willingness to provide service to Saint Anthony of Padua. If you are new we will provide training.

Ministerio de Ujieres

Mision

Nuestra misión en este Ministerio es hacer que la gente se sienta bienvenida, querida, valorada y especial. Nosotros somos las primeras personas que la gente se encuentra cuando llegan a la iglesia. Nosotros somos los porteros en la casa del Señor.

Proposito

El propósito de este Ministerio es proveer la logística en los servicios que permita que la Misas se lleven a cabo sin precipitaciones y se pueda atender a los mil detalles especiales que son parte de una gran concentración de gente.  Los Ujieres son siempre necesarios, especialmente en nuestra iglesia San Antonio de Padua.

Actividades de Este Ministerio

Los Ujieres dan la bienvenida a la gente al entrar en la iglesia y los dirigen  hacia los bancos. Durante los servicios, los Ujieres deben estar siempre disponibles para prestar la ayuda necesaria en cualquier clase de emergencia, recorrer los pasillos y recoger la colecta. También dar la mano a toda la gente que puedan en el momento de la Paz en la Misa. Seleccionar la familia o grupo para la presentación de las ofrendas y dirigir la gente durante la Comunión. Cuando la Misa acaba repartir los boletines o ayudar a la comunidad en cualquier otra necesidad.

La única cosa que necesita traer con usted a este trabajo es un deseo grande de servir. Si usted es nuevo en este Ministerio nosotros lo entrenaremos.
